PETREE original versus 2.0: what changes

PETREE’s current U.S. litter-box collection shows an original Automatic Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box with Standard and Wifi selectors, a separate PETREE 2.0 listing, and a refurbished offer. Exact variants matter: the original page’s “2.0 Wifi Version” selection and the standalone PETREE 2.0 listing both use SKU PLB10002. Treat that as one 2.0 identity with two listing appearances, not as an extra model. Refurbished condition grades map to the same underlying machine families; they do not establish a new cleaning mechanism.

Original Standard: a no-app choice

The Standard Version is the original enclosed globe without listed app reporting. It may suit an owner who wants automatic cycling but would rather inspect the waste drawer directly and not depend on connected monitoring. The page gives a 3–20 lb cat guide, a three-month minimum-age instruction, a 4-liter/135-ounce waste bin, and a maximum 8.8 lb litter load. The dimensions are printed as 24.5 × 23.1 × 13.7 inches without axis labels, and exact litter compatibility and household cat capacity remain unconfirmed. Do not translate weight guidance into a cat-count promise.

Original Wifi: same basic family, added remote information

The Wifi Version adds app-based activity/usage and remaining-litter or drawer information. The shared original product page gives both original selectors the same three-month minimum-age instruction. It keeps the original body and its published limits, but the specific wireless band is not clear in the material inspected. That uncertainty matters if only one Wi-Fi band is available at home. App history also should not be mistaken for confirmed individual-cat identification or a health diagnosis. If app information is not essential, Standard avoids that network question; if it is essential, confirm supported router bands before buying.

PETREE 2.0: more explicit litter and operating instructions

The separate ACC-21-02 / PLB10002 page names clumping-litter examples including bentonite, tofu and mixed formulas, lists 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and describes one-touch litter dumping. It gives a 1–8 kg cat guide; the associated two-page second-generation instruction sheet describes a three-minute delay after a cat exits, a roughly 4-liter first fill up to the MAX line, and the same model family’s washable-chamber/non-washable-base care. Its age directions conflict: a safety notice says not to use automatic mode under six months, while its FAQ and the product page use an over-four-month guide. For matching, six months is the conservative boundary; a four- or five-month kitten is not a confirmed fit. The 6-liter specification is the drum, not a waste-drawer capacity. Household cat count and dimension axes remain unknown.

Practical ownership questions

Before choosing any of the three, measure the path to the room, operating clearance and waste-drawer access; ask the manufacturer to identify width, depth and height when a listed dimension is close to your available space. Confirm the exact litter instructions rather than carrying 2.0’s named clumping options over to the older models. Plan for gradual introduction, supervised first cycles and ongoing drawer checks. A promotional image or app graph cannot guarantee that a cat will accept a moving globe.

At the collection snapshot checked, the original, 2.0 and refurbished variants were marked unavailable. They remain useful references, but availability can change and the snapshot does not imply discontinuation. The second-generation instruction sheet names ACC-21-02/ACC-21-03; it is not a bridge to the original Standard or Wifi selector. The shared original listing does give a three-month minimum-age instruction, but a separate ACC-18-01 sheet has no exact selector mapping and adds other limits (including a stricter weight line and 30-second delay). Obtain the paperwork for the exact original variant rather than importing those unbridged details or the 2.0’s different kitten guidance.

Which decision is decisive?

Choose Standard if app data is unnecessary and the original box’s unresolved litter and fit details are acceptable after confirmation. Choose original Wifi only if you value remote activity information and verify the band. Choose 2.0 if its clumping-litter plan, 2.4-GHz setup and 1–8 kg guidance fit; use six months as the conservative automatic-use age while the maker’s four-versus-six-month directions remain inconsistent. If a numerical cat-count rating, waste-drawer capacity or axis-labeled footprint is essential, none of the cited materials answers that question; seek a documented answer rather than treating silence as a match.
