Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the original PETREE Standard fit an enclosed-globe preference without an essential app requirement?
It is the enclosed original option and does not document app reporting. Exact litter material and numeric cat capacity remain unknown.
Explore this need in the finder →Does PETREE’s 3–20 lb guidance cover a cat up to 18 lb?
The original product copy gives a 3–20 lb cat range; it does not give a household cat-count rating.
Explore this need in the finder →Will its listed 44 lb maximum machine-weight range support a 44 lb cat?
No. That machine-weight statement is not a cat limit; the page’s separate cat guide is 3–20 lb.

The PETREE Automatic Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box Standard Version is the non-Wi-Fi option on PETREE’s original product page. It is not the later PETREE 2.0, even though the older page also has a “2.0 Wifi Version” selector that points to the same PLB10002 SKU as the separate 2.0 listing. This assessment is for the original Standard Version option, Shopify variant 40801979007050; the manufacturer does not publish a separate conventional model number for that selector. Its defining decision is simple: the original globe-and-sifting design without an app connection.
PETREE describes a gravity-sensing enclosed automatic box made from PP resin, powered by a 12-volt, 5-watt adapter. The product page lists a 16-pound unit weight, an 8.8-pound maximum litter load, a 135-ounce waste bin and weight precision of 0.011 pound. It separately gives a 44-pound maximum weight range for the apparatus, which is not a 44-pound cat recommendation. The maker’s product text gives a 3-to-20-pound cat range and warns that a cat entering while the unit moves causes it to stop. An instruction block on this same listing says only cats at least three months old should use it; the page gives no post-exit delay. A separate archived instruction-sheet candidate names ACC-18-01 but does not map that code to this selector, so its additional weight, litter and delay rules are not assigned here.
Why choose the no-app option?
If you want the core automatic cleaning function and do not need remote usage records or alerts, the Standard option avoids making app reporting part of the decision. You still need a location with an outlet, room for the enclosed globe to operate, and a routine for emptying the waste drawer and keeping the sensors and interior clean. The public page describes the safety stop, but it is not a substitute for supervising early cycles, following the maker’s instructions and keeping children or animals from interfering with a moving appliance.
PETREE’s original page gives an 8.8-pound maximum but no exact litter chart for Standard. Its current generic FAQ recommends standard-weight clay clumping litter, says some crystals and plant-based types may work if they pass the screen, and rejects non- or loose-clumping materials. It does not identify the generation or selector, so treat this as family guidance, not variant instructions. Its usual 7–10-pound fill estimate is not Standard-specific; follow the exact page’s lower 8.8-pound maximum and fill line. Ask about your exact litter if it is essential.
Measure the real space; don’t infer fit from the image
The manufacturer image identifies a rounded white globe but does not establish entry width, headroom or drawer-service space. The product page gives approximate overall dimensions of 24.5 × 23.1 × 13.7 inches without labeling the axes. Its generic FAQ claims 67 liters of interior space and gives a 450-mm neck-to-hip guide, but names no selector; use those only as fit questions to confirm. Measure the route, operating footprint and drawer access. A cat’s comfort with a covered chamber is individual, and a large-looking opening in a promotional image does not guarantee fit.
Keep the numbers in their lanes: 3–20 pounds is the cat guide; 8.8 pounds is maximum litter; 135 ounces is the listed bin; and 44 pounds is a machine weight range, not a cat limit. The 0.011-pound precision is not evidence of a veterinary-grade scale. PETREE’s FAQ recommends three to four cats per box but does not identify Standard or a selector. Treat that as planning guidance, not this variant’s verified capacity; ask about 40801979007050 if a numeric limit is essential.
What changes when you choose Wi-Fi or 2.0?
The original Wifi Version shares the basic enclosed automatic format but adds app information about waste-drawer level, remaining litter and use/activity. Its exact Wi-Fi band is not stated in the material checked, so don’t buy it to satisfy a hard 2.4- or 5-GHz router requirement without written confirmation. If app reporting is important, compare its distinct review and decide whether those records justify the added connectivity. Activity data may help you notice a change, but it does not prove which cat used the box or explain the cause.
The separately listed PETREE 2.0 is a different update, model ACC-21-02/SKU PLB10002. Its page documents 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, app notifications and usage records, a one-touch litter-dumping operation, and clumping litter compatibility that specifically includes bentonite, tofu and mixed formulations. It has a stated 1–8 kg cat guide and four-month/1 kg kitten restriction. Its stated 6-liter drum is the rotating chamber, not a published waste-drawer capacity. If those exact features matter, see the 2.0 assessment rather than treating an old-page selector as a separate third design.
Who should shortlist the Standard Version?
Consider it if your cat meets the stated original weight range and three-month age guide, is comfortable with a covered rotating box, your household does not require app monitoring, and you are willing to verify litter compatibility and space before purchase. Choose the Wifi sibling if app usage and drawer information are a real need; consider 2.0 if the newer litter list, 2.4-GHz connection or its separate kitten guidance changes your decision. Choose neither as a positive match when numerical cat-count capacity, exact litter material or doorway measurements are essential but undocumented. If a cat is close to the lower weight boundary, ask PETREE which instructions apply: an archived ACC-18-01 sheet has a stricter weight line, but no exact selector mapping. The manufacturer’s U.S. collection showed this original offer sold out at review time; that is a stock snapshot, not a reason to substitute an unrelated model or assume the product has been discontinued.
