Model differences
PetPivot AutoScooper 11 vs 12 Lite: entry, bin and package differences
The PetPivot AutoScooper 11 and AutoScooper 12 Lite are easy to mistake for color or generation choices because both are open-top rotating sifters with local controls, a covered waste drawer and similar floor footprints. Their differences matter at the cat's entry and at the waste compartment. The AS11 lists a 10-liter drawer and 6.5-liter litter load; the AS12 Lite lists an 8-liter drawer and 5.5-liter litter load. The AS12 Lite is also lower at its entrance. Those figures favor different needs, but neither defines how many days a household can safely go without checking waste.
Compare dimensions that affect setup
| Manufacturer-listed detail | AutoScooper 11 (AS11) | AutoScooper 12 Lite (AS12) |
|---|---|---|
| Overall dimensions | 24 H × 21.25 W × 16.33 D in | 21.85 H × 21.06 W × 15.75 D in |
| Entrance height | 13.18 in (manual) | 12.4 in |
| Maximum litter load | 6.5 L | 5.5 L |
| Waste container volume | 10 L | 8 L |
| Numeric household-capacity statement | Not found in the exact listing/manual material reviewed | Up to three cats, one at a time |
| Connected features | No app, Wi-Fi or camera listed | No app, Wi-Fi or camera listed |
The dimensions are similar in width and depth, so the Lite is not a dramatically smaller floor-space solution. Its lower overall height and lower entry may help a room or cat with a limited approach, but measure the actual clearance: the AS12 product page does not publish an entrance width. The AS11 gives a 15.35-by-15.35-inch opening, but a cat's body shape still matters. The supplied step on the AS12 is part of the package, yet attaching it is optional; it does not establish accessibility for a cat with joint or balance problems.
Capacity numbers are not emptying schedules
Both manuals specify small-particle mineral or bentonite clumping litter and say not to use crystals or long-strip tofu litter. Both makers tell owners to check the waste container every five days for one cat and no later than seven; multi-cat homes should inspect it sooner. The AS12's “up to three cats” wording is a manufacturer capacity statement, not a guarantee of a weekly drawer interval. AS11's page says multi-cat use but does not give a numerical rating, so it cannot satisfy a requirement for a published two- or three-cat rating just because the machine's drawer is larger.
For automatic operation, both manuals set the same boundary: cats must be older than six months and weigh more than three pounds. A younger, lighter, pregnant or nursing cat should be kept in Manual Mode with caretaker control. If using manual cycling is not acceptable, neither machine fits that essential automatic-use need. No app means neither product can send connected alerts or remote activity logs; households wanting those features should compare an app-enabled model such as the Neakasa M1 Plus, while recognizing that model's Wi-Fi and capacity unknowns.
Color and liner package do not make another machine
The current U.S. pages expose four finishes on each family and offer “Box Only” and “Box + 3 Bag Rolls.” The gray-white AS11 SKU is labeled both “Off-White with Gray” and “Soft Gray” across duplicate product handles; those names identify the same SKU, not a second function. The AS12 pages likewise repeat the same U.S. finish/package choices across four listing handles. Treat the choices as finish and supply differences, and check the exact SKU's package list for the number of liners rather than counting what appears in promotional art. The AS11 package lists a litter mat and Litter Remover; the AS12 package lists a front-entry step. These accessories solve different setup problems, not capacity or app gaps.
Which one to compare first
Choose the AS12 Lite for its explicit three-cat guidance and 12.4-inch entrance if those documented details match your household and the smaller drawer is acceptable. Consider the AS11 when its larger stated litter and waste volumes matter more and your cat can handle its higher entry; ask PetPivot for a numerical cat-capacity answer if that is mandatory. Neither model has verified noise measurements: the AS11 manual says 32 dB while its product page says about 38–40 dB, and the AS12 publishes 38–40 dB. Do not use these specifications as a controlled quietness ranking. For either, plan daily visual checks, routine liner changes, regular bin washing and monthly litter/chamber cleaning. Read the AS11 assessment or AS12 Lite assessment before ordering.
