A useful fit for

A non-connected open-top clumping-litter sifter for households that want local controls and a larger stated waste drawer, and whose cats meet the automatic-mode limits.

The main tradeoff

The AS11 has a higher listed entrance than the AS12 Lite and no numerical cat-capacity rating. Its 32 dB manual and 38–40 dB product-page noise claims conflict; no independent acoustic measurement supports either value.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the AS11 use an open-top rotary sifter with ordinary clumping mineral litter rather than a connected app?

Yes. The AS11 listing/manual describes an open-top automatic sifter for small-particle clumping mineral/bentonite litter, and PetPivot describes no app or Wi-Fi.

Can a cat exactly three pounds or younger than six months use the AS11 in automatic mode?

No. The manual says automatic mode is for cats over three pounds and older than six months; under-limit, pregnant or nursing cats should use Manual Mode with caretaker control.

Can I require the AS11 to be maker-rated for at least two cats?

No numeric cat-capacity limit is published in the exact AS11 materials reviewed. “Multi-cat” wording is not a numerical rating, so this essential requirement remains unconfirmed.

A local-control design with an open cleaning chamber

The AutoScooper 11 (AS11) is an open-top, rotating litter sifter: after a cat leaves, its powered chamber moves litter through an internal screen and sends waste to a covered lower drawer. The entrance is not a tunnel through a closed globe, and this is not a fixed rake over a tray. That makes it a distinct option for cats that dislike enclosed entrances but may still be cautious around a moving machine. Leave the old box available during a gradual transition and do not assume an open view alone will make a nervous cat accept automatic motion.

The practical distinction from many connected litter boxes is simplicity of controls, not a lack of maintenance. PetPivot describes the AS11 as working without an app, Wi-Fi, camera or subscription. Local buttons cover power, litter leveling and cleaning; the manual also describes a manual-cleaning mode. If you need remote alerts, a use history or app-adjustable delay, this is the wrong operating plan. If you deliberately want to avoid another connected appliance, its offline design is a meaningful advantage.

Check the cat limits before choosing Auto

PetPivot's AS11 instructions restrict automatic operation to cats at least six months old and over three pounds. For an underweight or younger kitten, or a pregnant or nursing cat, the maker directs the caretaker to Manual Mode and a manually started cycle. That preserves control over when cleaning begins; it is not a way to use automatic cycling below the stated limits. Power loss or unplugging also returns the unit to its default automatic mode on restart, so recheck the setting before leaving it unattended if manual operation is essential.

The current page calls the AS11 multi-cat friendly, but I could not find a numerical household-capacity rating in its model-specific material. Do not treat the AS12 Lite's published three-cat maximum as an AS11 specification. The AS11 maker says to check the drawer every five days for one cat, never let it go beyond seven days, and inspect it sooner for multiple cats. Those intervals are care instructions, not a promise that a full drawer can be left alone that long.

Litter fit and daily cleanup remain active work

Use the small-particle clumping mineral or bentonite litter specified by the AS11 manual. It excludes crystals and long-strip tofu; material too large or slow to clump can fail to pass and separate as intended. This is not the crystal tray/rake routine used by PetSafe's ScoopFree line, nor the washable-granule or water-soluble litter system of CatGenie. If a cat already depends on one of those materials, choosing a compatible box is usually easier than changing the litter and the cat's routine at once.

The manual lists a maximum 6.5-liter litter load and a 10-liter waste container. It calls for washing the waste container about every 15 days and changing all litter and cleaning the chamber monthly. The product page lists dimensions of 24 inches high, 21.25 wide and 16.33 deep, with a 15.35-by-15.35-inch entrance. The manual identifies a 13.18-inch entrance height. Measure the clear approach, front drawer access and room above the unit, rather than comparing only the footprint. A listed minimum floor area does not include the space needed to remove a full drawer or clean the chamber.

Noise and package details deserve a closer look

There is a source conflict worth keeping visible: the AS11 manual gives an operating-noise figure of 32 dB, while the current product page gives about 38–40 dB. Neither is an independent measurement, and the two values do not form a reliable head-to-head test. I would not select it on a quietness claim without hearing the current unit in the intended room. Likewise, odor media and a closed drawer are design features, not a measured guarantee of odor control.

The U.S. product options preserve four finishes—white, dark gray, soft gray/off-white with gray, and pink—and a “Box Only” or “Box + 3 Bag Rolls” package. The gray-with-white name varies between product handles even when the exact SKU is the same. Finish and bag-roll supply do not change the cleaning mechanism. The box-only listing includes one 20-piece roll, a litter mat and a Litter Remover; check the selected SKU's package list before assuming extra consumables are included. These are exact package choices around one AS11 machine, not separate capacities or automatic modes.

Who should keep it on the shortlist?

The AS11 is a reasonable candidate when an open-top clumping-litter sifter, offline local controls and a large lower drawer matter more than app features or a numeric multi-cat rating. Its 10-liter drawer is larger on paper than the AS12 Lite's 8 liters, but the two models have similar floor dimensions and the AS11 has the higher published entrance. If entry height or three-cat capacity is essential, compare the AutoScooper 12 Lite, whose page gives a lower entrance and explicit up-to-three-cat guidance, before deciding. For app reporting and a lower published minimum-weight guide, consider an app-enabled open-top model such as the Neakasa M1 Plus, while checking its separate Wi-Fi and kitten uncertainties. The AS11 is not a no-maintenance box: you still inspect litter, empty the drawer, wash the bin and perform the monthly chamber clean.
