A three-appliance purchase, with one litter box

The White CATLINK Scooper Open-X EcoSystem Set is for someone who wants more than a self-cleaning box: CATLINK lists one Open-X, one Fresh 2 Luxury automatic feeder, and one PURE 2 Lite fountain in a single package. The white option’s full manufacturer SKU is CL-FD-02/CL-WA-01-black/CL-CH-01-2. It is not a two-box set. That distinction matters: the Open-X has its own waste drawer and litter routine, while the feeder and fountain each add a separate food or water routine to clean and replenish.

What the Open-X contributes

The included litter appliance is an open-top rotating sifter rather than an enclosed globe or a rake that sweeps across a flat pan. CATLINK describes its 12-liter waste drawer and a screen that separates compatible clumps from clean litter. An open top gives a cat a view out while entering, but it does not make the step low: the bundle’s specification section lists an entrance height of 13.8 inches. Measure from your actual floor to the entry and consider the route into the room, especially if your cat is hesitant about climbing or stepping over a rim.

CATLINK says the Open-X works with clumping litter and warns against non-clumping litter, wood pellets, newspaper and long tofu pieces that will not pass through its screen. A familiar litter label is not enough: particle size and clump structure matter to a sifting design. If you are moving from a different box, keep the old setup available during the transition and introduce the new texture and location gradually. The listed body dimensions are 25.6 by 23.6 by 27.5 inches; reserve extra space to pull the drawer, refill litter and clean around the unit. CATLINK also asks for six inches of clearance around the appliance for sensing and service access.

The app promise is not a capacity rating

The listing says the app can monitor hydration, feeding and bathroom activity, and control all three products. The Open-X specification lists both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. That connected set-up may appeal if you are starting without a feeder or fountain and want those routines in one place. It also means more than one device to pair, power and maintain. The page does not establish that every bathroom visit will be attributed to the right cat, and its “14 days” bundle claim is not a dependable emptying interval for every household. Drawer fill varies with cats, litter, clumps and how much litter is carried out; check the drawer rather than planning an absence around a headline duration.

The package page names the litter machine simply as “Scooper Open-X” and lists its component code as CL-CH-01-2. CATLINK’s Open-X manual identifies the base CL-CH-01 family, but the package page does not explain whether this white bundle code corresponds to the current Single-Cat or Multi-Cat app edition. I would not select this set to guarantee individual-cat records or a specific numerical household capacity. If either feature is essential, get the exact included unit’s software and operating limit confirmed before choosing the bundle.

Who should pay attention to the companion devices?

The feeder listing identifies Fresh 2 Luxury with a 4-liter food store; the fountain listing identifies PURE 2 Lite with a 2.6-liter tank. Those are useful starting capacities, not permission to leave food or water unattended for a fixed number of days. Food type, each cat’s intake, evaporation, filter care and the number of pets all change the actual refill routine. Plan to clean the fountain’s wet parts and replace its filter on its own schedule, and to keep the feeder’s hopper and bowl clean. A single app does not combine these jobs into one maintenance-free appliance.

This set makes the most sense for a household that needs all three categories of device, has space for the Open-X’s raised entry and drawer service, uses compatible clumping litter, and is comfortable checking several connected devices. It is a poor match if you already own a reliable feeder and fountain, need a manufacturer-rated two-cat (or higher) Open-X capacity, require verified individual-cat identification, or cannot make the reported footprint and entry work. A two-box requirement should also point elsewhere: this package contains one litter machine.

Alternatives that change the decision

If only litter automation is missing, compare the standalone Open-X Multi-Cat listing and its distinct capacity and app caveats before paying for companion devices you do not need.
