Use the exact current SKU and manual; app logs and manufacturer fit claims do not replace observation or cat-specific transition.

A useful fit for

A cat comfortable entering a 9.84-inch front opening and using firm clumping litter; the manual publishes a 2.2 lb and three-month automatic-use minimum, while the FAQ recommends a conservative upper fit around 16.5 lb.

The main tradeoff

The enclosed form and app are useful only if the cat accepts the opening; its 95 L chamber and drawer-volume claims do not establish a numeric household capacity. Core operation is described as available without Wi-Fi, but app reporting is not.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the enclosed front-entry M2 match a cat that prefers a covered drum rather than an exposed sifter?

The M2 is an enclosed front-entry rotating drum; the opening is listed at 9.84 inches, so body size and willingness to enter still matter.

Does the manual-supported lower cat-fit boundary work for a 2.2 lb cat at least three months old?

The M2 manual gives a 2.2 lb minimum and three-month minimum age for automatic use; these are separate from the machine-load limit.

Will the M2 plan accept clumping litter and 2.4 GHz app reporting?

Yes for clumping litter and Tuya app functions on 2.4 GHz; basic local operation is described separately from app features.

What the M2’s enclosed drum changes

Cumrige M2 is a front-entry enclosed rotating litter box, not the open-top M5 or E. After use, its drum separates clumps into a pull-out sealed waste compartment. That enclosed form is the first decision: it creates a more bounded litter area, but your cat must be comfortable entering a smaller opening and turning inside. The maker lists a 9.84-inch entrance and an interior roughly 15.75 by 15.35 by 18.9 inches. These dimensions matter more than the “large capacity” headline when a cat is long-bodied or turns awkwardly.

The official M2 page describes a 95-liter chamber and a 15-liter sealed drawer. Those numbers describe volume, not a household rating. Its FAQ’s approximate two-week drawer estimate is specifically for one cat of about 8.8 pounds, and the page says the interval changes with use. I would not translate it into a multi-cat promise. The same FAQ says M2 is best suited to cats up to about 16.5 pounds; the manual’s higher equipment-load limit is not the same thing as a comfortable cat-fit recommendation. If a cat is close to that guidance, compare body length and turning room rather than relying on weight alone.

Litter, controls and connection

M2 is intended for clumping litter. Cumrige’s FAQ points toward low-dust, absorbent litter that forms firm clumps, including clay or mineral clumping formulas, and says non-clumping crystal litter is not recommended. In a home already committed to crystals, a model designed around a crystal tray is a better match than trying to make M2’s sifting drum do a different job.

The M2 pairs with a 2.4 GHz network for Tuya-app functions such as status, usage and supported remote controls. The manufacturer says core litter-box operation can work without Wi-Fi; the app is therefore not the only way to start the machine. That distinction is useful if your room’s network is unreliable, but it is not a claim that every monitoring feature remains available offline. The illuminated touch panel is more elaborate than M4’s three physical buttons. M2 page copy also says that the app can show activity and health-related records; those logs should be treated as manufacturer-described tracking, not a diagnosis or proof that the device recognizes an individual cat accurately.

Ownership and limits

Set the M2 on a level, stable floor and give the entry and drawer enough clearance. Keep your existing tray nearby while a cat explores the new enclosure; the maker suggests adding familiar used litter and allowing a gradual transition before automatic cleaning. That matters because a self-cleaning cycle is only helpful if the cat willingly uses the box. The manual’s limits are stricter than broad marketing language in some areas: it names clumping litter, a minimum age of three months and a minimum cat weight of 2.2 pounds, while the FAQ’s conservative large-cat recommendation is 16.5 pounds. The machine’s published load limit should not replace those separate cat-fit considerations.

The removable drum and drawer simplify access for regular care, but the electronic base is not a wash-under-the-tap part. Follow the manual’s disassembly sequence, disconnect power before cleaning, and keep liquid away from the control base. A sealed drawer can reduce exposed waste between cleanouts; it cannot eliminate every odor, prevent litter tracking or remove the need to check the bin.

Who should compare another design?

M2 makes the most sense when an enclosed front entrance and app-supported monitoring are useful, the entrance dimensions suit the cat, and a firm-clumping litter routine already works at home. Compare the M4 if you want a similar enclosed shape but a simpler three-button panel and a maker-stated three-cat capacity. Compare the M5 or E if the cat needs open-top access; those trade enclosure for a more open entrance and a different sifting experience. No one should choose M2 just because the maker calls the chamber large: the entrance, interior and the cat’s actual habits are the deciding checks.
