Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does this one exact package actually contain two automatic litter-box machines?
Yes. The exact Cumrige option SKU Mini-E-M5 and its page artwork identify two separate machines: Cumrige M5 and Cumrige E.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the pair share a documented clumping-litter plan without adding its drawer volumes?
Each exact included model uses clumping litter, but the drawer volumes and care remain per device; the package does not combine their capacity.
Explore this need in the finder →Do two boxes establish a maker-rated two-cat household capacity or one shared app?
No package-level cat-count rating or shared app account is documented. A need for two stations is different from a numeric two-cat rating.

The Cumrige M5 + E set is the official double-box offer identified by SKU Mini-E-M5. It combines two open-top rotating sifters: the M5 and the model called E (variant SKU Mini-E). Both leave the litter surface open rather than enclosing it inside a globe. That makes the package more consistent than a mixed M2-plus-open-top set, but it is not two identical machines. M5 has a published two-to-three-cat capacity claim; the E page uses broad multi-cat language but supplies no numeric household rating. The package does not earn a combined cat count by adding those separate statements.
The M5’s sealed waste bin is listed at 10.5 liters, while the E’s page lists 15 liters. Those volumes affect the maintenance routine but do not tell you how long either box will last. The M5 page says up to ten days, while E has no comparable single-cat interval in the current listing. These are not two drawers that discharge into one larger bin; empty and inspect each separately. Plan two locations and safe drawer clearance before choosing the double set.
What the two models accept
Both models are designed around clumping litter. M5’s specification lists bentonite, mineral and mixed litter, and excludes tofu and crystal. E also lists bentonite, mineral and mixed and says not to use tofu or crystal. M5’s FAQ gives more detail on clump firmness and cautions against light, oversized or poorly clumping litter. If buying the set to use the same litter in both boxes, a firm clumping formula within the manufacturer’s guidance is the conservative common path.
The M5 page identifies four weight sensors and three infrared detectors, app reporting in the Tuya system, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The E page lists weight and infrared sensors, Tuya plus manual button control, and the same 2.4 GHz connection. These features can help with everyday status, but the package listing does not promise that two boxes share one integrated account view, coordinate cycles or identify individual cats. Those are attractive possibilities to verify, not included facts.
Fit remains model-specific
M5’s product page lists an open chamber and a 10.5-liter bin, while its separate manual says not to use automatic mode for cats under six months and provides a 3.3-pound lower threshold and a conservative upper guide of 27.5 pounds. E’s manual also gives a six-month minimum and a 3.3-pound minimum; the manufacturer page lists a 27.5-pound upper guide. Compare the cat’s posture and use the exact model’s instructions at each station. Two units do not remove a fit limit if the same cat will use both.
If your home has cats that prefer the open entrance, two stations can make sense on separate floors or in different zones. But a second box is not a substitute for a transition plan: keep the familiar tray available and let each cat explore before automatic cycles start. A two-machine purchase also doubles drawer checks, liner replacement, litter top-ups and occasional removable-part cleaning. The sealed-bin design can contain collected waste; it cannot eliminate the need to monitor both machines.
Who should compare another set?
Choose M5 + E only if two open-top boxes are useful and you are comfortable with a more complete capacity record for M5 than for E. If the numeric number of cats a unit is rated for is essential, the M5’s maker claim is available but E’s remains unknown; do not treat the bundle as a four-to-six-cat system. Compare M4 + M5 for a covered-plus-open pair, or M4 + E if one enclosed station is more useful. For a single open unit, compare M5 and E by fit and drawer routine.
