Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does this one exact package actually contain two automatic litter-box machines?
Yes. The exact Cumrige option SKU M2-M5-FBM and its page artwork identify two separate machines: Cumrige M2 and Cumrige M5.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the pair share a documented clumping-litter plan without adding its drawer volumes?
Each exact included model uses clumping litter, but the drawer volumes and care remain per device; the package does not combine their capacity.
Explore this need in the finder →Do two boxes establish a maker-rated two-cat household capacity or one shared app?
No package-level cat-count rating or shared app account is documented. A need for two stations is different from a numeric two-cat rating.

Cumrige M2 + M5 is a two-machine purchase with exact current U.S. bundle SKU M2-M5-FBM. It combines an enclosed front-entry M2 with the open-top M5. This is the family’s clearest contrast in access shape: one cat can enter a covered drum, while the other machine leaves the litter surface open. The package can support distinct stations in a multi-room home, but it does not make one cat comfortable with both shapes or merge the waste drawers into a single larger container.
Both units are automatic rotary sifters and use clumping litter, but their main fit limits differ. M2’s page gives a 9.84-inch entry and about 16.5 pounds as its cautious upper cat guide; its manual lists a 2.2-pound minimum and a three-month age floor. M5’s separate manual says 3.3 pounds, at least six months, and a 27.5-pound upper guide, despite wider weight language on its product page. If one cat must use either station, follow the more restrictive M5 minimum age and weight. If cats are assigned to separate rooms, assess each cat against the machine in its room rather than averaging the limits.
Two drawers and two maintenance profiles
M2 has a 15-liter sealed drawer and advertises about 14 days for a single cat around 8.8 pounds. M5 has a 10.5-liter sealed bin and a maker claim of up to ten days. The estimates use different conditions and should not be combined into a package interval. The actual work is to check two drawers, keep each litter bed topped up and clean both units according to their own manuals. M2 has a more elaborate touch panel; M5 uses its own physical buttons and app. The set does not document shared control or common alerts across two boxes.
M2 uses a 2.4 GHz network for supported app controls while core cleaning can operate locally. M5 also lists Tuya app control and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Each machine’s app connection may be useful in a different room, but a bundle listing alone does not establish that both units can be managed through one account. If one unified app view is a requirement, confirm that specific capability rather than inferring it from two app-enabled boxes.
Should the designs share one litter?
The manufacturer describes M2 for low-dust, absorbent clumping litter and specifically says non-clumping crystals are not recommended. M5’s listing includes bentonite, mineral and mixed litter and excludes tofu and crystal. M5’s instructions caution against weak clumps, very light litter and large pellets. A firm clumping formula within those limits is the sensible overlap. If you prefer crystals or tofu, neither machine is documented for that plan; compare a tray designed for that litter rather than attempting a conversion.
The second unit is helpful when a home benefits from a covered and an open station, but it brings room for two appliances, two power supplies, two drawer clearances and a larger total maintenance footprint. Keep a familiar litter box during transition; not every cat will start using a new automatic box right away. The safety sensors described for each machine are manufacturer features, not a reason to leave an animal near a moving cycle or to skip supervised introduction.
Who should choose another combination?
M2 + M5 suits a buyer who wants exactly two stations with different entry styles and will maintain each separately. It is not a two-cat rating, a shared chamber or a guaranteed backup if one cat rejects one style. Compare M2 + M4 if two enclosed forms are preferred, or M4 + M5 if M4’s smaller recommended cat fit is acceptable. For one station, read the separate M2 and M5 assessments and make the entry choice before deciding whether the bundle’s second machine is useful.
